ASICS announces a new model of the GEL-LYTE™ Ⅲ OG sneaker, designed in collaboration with atmos, which is a sneaker shop based in Tokyo, and SNEAKER FREAKER, a sneaker magazine from Melbourne, Australia.
The design was inspired by stray cats in the back alleys common to the cities of Tokyo and Melbourne and are expressed in fur and phosphorescent materials, and the the color of purple and green are reminiscent of the neon lights in the cities. The eye-catching purple on the upper and midsole is a mixture of blue, the brand color of atmos, and red, the key color of SNEAKER FREAKER. The shoe is packed with a unique commitment of collaboration and features asymmetrical logos on the tongue, heel and sockliner.
The GEL-LYTE™ III shoe was created by ASICS designer Shigeyuki Mitsui in 1990, and the iconic model is still loved by sneaker fans today. The model is known for its unique ‘split tongue’, which cradles the foot upper.
